Hi. I have viewed the Image

This could be from scratching if there is itching or it could be herpes/ shingles which is usually painful.

Does she have itching or pain?

it is itchy but it has been going away. what may have caused this?

She may use a soothing lotion e.g calamine lotion, 3-4 times a day. In addition I suggest her to take an oral antihistamine e.g cetirizine 10mg tablet once a day for symptomatic relief from itching.
