Posted on Sun, 16 Dec 2018
Question: I would like to know if eating soybean (raw, boiled or roasted) will cause any issues with sperm motility or count.
I am not using Soy bean or any soy products until now. I plan on using it for the high amount of protein that is required for muscle building.
My wife and I are trying to conceive a baby (2nd) at this time and hence want to ensure that I dont eat anything that will affect sperm count or motility.

yes

Welcome to , ' Ask a doctor service ' ,
Mr XXXXXXX , there is negative effect of soya products on semen quality .
It is due to estrogenic properties of soy products .
If the man has sperm number in lower range , then risk of infertility is there .
In other words , if a person is trying to conceive , then he must avoid soya products .
I hope I have solved your query .
