Question : I%E2%80%99m been diagnosed with gastritis and colitis but and I%E2%80%99ve been taking medication for both ailments however im constipated and having a hard time Ive been taking stool softeners daily and a laxitive every four days and then Im able to go and when I go I have mucus in my stool. I dont want to over use laxatives. Just want to know what can I do?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Best management is to find the cause of the symptoms and to follow the best possible lifestyle.

Gastritis and colitis mean inflamed gastro-intestinal tract. I will suggest that a colonoscopy and biopsy be done to find cause and proceed according to cause. If it has been already done, please upload the reports.

Meanwhile drink lots of cleaner water (instead of daily softeners) to wash out the toxins and also make the stools softer. Lie on your tummy for few minutes and do tummy massage daily. This helps in moving the stools.
