Brief Answer:
Can be a fracture.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
If a crack is visible on X-ray it is suggestive of a fracture. This needs proper evaluation by an orthopedician to see if the fracture fragments are displaced or not. This will need proper immobilization in a cast or boot. Avoid any weight bearing on the foot till then and avoid all painful movements.
In case there is a visible swelling then a cold compress can help.
Hope this answer is helpful.
Any follow up queries are welcome.
