Question : If someone has anal herpes is it the same as vaginal herpes. If someone has vaginal sex with a person who has anal heroes can they contract herpes?

I dont understand. How can a person that only has has vaginal sex get herpes from another person if the herpes lesion is only in the anal area?

viral shedding is not only from the herpes lesions but also from the surrounding skin and because of the anatomical proximity of vagina and anus, there could be a possibility of transmitting herpes by vaginal sex.
