Question : If you have high B12 levels in a blood test what type of doctor should you see
Brief Answer:
what is significance of high Vit. B12 level in blood?
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask a Doctor. I have reviewed you query and here is my advice. XXXXXXX
I would like to know why your physician ordered this test?
High Vit. B12 can be due to liver disease(hepatitis, cirrhosis), some types of cancer; however, a Vit. B12 level is not usually used to diagnosis these problems.
Rarely, in diabetes or obesity can the level be high.
I will wait to hear back from you.

I originally just got blood work done to see if I may have an issue with my thyroid. I was experiencing hair loss and some brain fog and joint pain.
Brief Answer:
cause of a group of symptoms
Detailed Answer:
I looked for your follow-up reply earlier and when I did not find it I went to the next question. I apologize for having you wait.
I'm glad you returned.
I am trying to put all three of these symptoms together into one diagnosis. Let's see
- chronic fatigue syndrome
-acute sleep problems
-depressive or emotional symptoms
-rheumatoid arthritis
-medications
I doubt that just listing diagnoses that MIGHT be possible will be of any help to you. I feel you would be better served if you could be evaluated by your primary care doctor who could take a good history.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to help.
