Hello, welcome to ask a doctor services.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, welcome to ask a doctor services. I have read your question.

You are experiencing pain in your heel since 3-4 days. It feels like throbbing pain at times. I am sorry to hear about your discomfort.

Sometimes, such symptoms can be caused due to weight gain but not always.

If obese, you are advised to lose weight, switch to healthy lifestyle and maintain healthy weight.

Due to overuse sometimes, the Achilles tendonitis that attaches the calf muscles to the heel becomes painful or inflamed, thus causing symptoms. It is treated conservatively with rest, NSAIDs and physical therapy.

Too much pressure on the planter fascia ligament may also causes pain and stiffness. Conservative treatment may not help, you may have to wear a night splint or a short leg cast, a comfortable pair of shoes, etc.

In joggers, obese people a heel spur which is an abnormal bone growth may develop where the planter fascia attaches to the heel bone, thus causing symptoms.

Sprains and strains may also be a cause. Local bruises like when the heel is bumped and bruised accidentally by stepping on a sharp object while walking barefoot may also cause pain. Stay at rest, avoid unnecessary walking.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Your gait and your feet will be examined, required tests and investigations will be done. Pathology will be detected accordingly.

Since you are having throbbing pain, neurological examination will be done. The nerves and muscles will be evaluated to check the strength, sensation and reflexes.

Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made. Hope I have answered your question. Take care.
