Question : I'm having joint pain in my thumbs (tendinitis), wrists and knees. When I walk there is loud cracking noises. Docs have done a lot of testing. It does not seem to be rheumathoid arthritis. Thyroid is fine. My prolactin is high, but only a little (25.4). What could this be? It all started in the last six months, around the time I started working from home because of the pandemic. The only problem I have had before this year is wrist pain. I am many medicines including lithium, invega, trileptal, strattera.

Brief Answer:
Can be tendonitis related to the position .

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

Pain in thumbs and wrists can be related to prolonged use of computer keyboards. A proper position and stretching exercise can help. It can happen due to mild tendonitis. The pain in knees can happen due to many causes. It can be due to arthritis or injury or inflammation or gout or a decrease in joint lubricants. The exact cause can be detected after proper investigation and then specific treatment can be started.

Till then taking mild pain killers can help temporarily. Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as aspirin and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), can help reduce pain and inflammation associated with this condition.

Taking joint lubricant supplements like chondroitin will also help.

Wishing you good health.

Regards.
