Question: I’m having trouble keeping anything down. If I drink something it comes back up foamy. I am continually salivating. It all started a few hours ago when I had some steak. Sometimes if this happens it stops as soon as I get a good burp but it has not this time

Brief Answer:
Bacterial food poisioning in intial stages.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms you are describing are mostly suggestive of Bacterial (clostridium very likely in case of streaks) gastroenteritis (commonly called food poisoning), which is the bacterial infection of the intestine. Right now its in initial stage. If not treated properly it would increase.

Management is with antibiotics (usually a combination of Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole) for which you will need a prescription.

Along with it take over the counter mefication Zofran 4mg twice to prevent nausea vomitimg or regurgitation.
Take probiotic VSL#3 twice daily.
Take soft and eaaily digestible food like curd and rice.
Drink plenty of oral rehydration solution to keep yourself hydrated.

Hope I was helpful.
Thanks.
