Question : I'm not sure if anyone but an endocrinoligist can answer this, but here goes. I had a benign parathyroid tumor removed last year that was only discovered because my calcium values were way up. Now my cousin has higher calcium values then I did, but she had her thyroid "killed" with radiation about 20 years ago. Are parathyroid issues even possible for her? I read the symptoms at parathyroid.com and she has EVERY ONE of them including liver and kidney numbers that are way too high. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Different causes of hypercalcemia and hypepararthyroidism also is possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear , welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I see the results of tests you attached. The calcium levels are high together with elevated liver enzymes.
The elevated calcium levels may be caused different causes, hypepararthyroidism, malignancy, vitamin D related, medications and other endocrine conditions.
Tell me if she is taking thiazide medications, lithium, calcium antiacids.
Even though she treated her thyroid with radioactive iodine her parathyroids are still there and there is a possibility of hypepararthyroidism.
Did she recently took too much of vitamin D supplements? This may be a reason.
She also has an impaired liver function.

Hope I have answered the question.
