Question : Im on Xarelto can I take Aleve for my arthritis pain, I'm taking Tylenol but it's not helping the pain. I have bone on bone hips,knees,groin. Told I'm high risk for replacement surgery because of my dvt history 3x.

Hi,

Aleve and other NSAID are not good choice of pain relief. It is known to cause gastritis and bleeds which may get exaggerated by xarelto.

I see you tried steroid shots. Did that help? If yes, you may try it again. If not, you should look for other pain relief medications - opioids. It's is effective and has no risks of bleeding. Physiotherapy is another useful option.

Discuss with your treating surgeon and pain medication specialist.
