Question : I’m on a paliperidone depot, quetiapine, procyclidine and mirtazapine. Is it safe to take ondansetron?
Brief Answer:
There is increased risk of arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) if you add ondansetron
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,
Ondansetron interacts with paliperidone and quetiapine as all these three medications do affect the QTc interval in the heart and increasing the risk for arrhythmias.
It is considered a serious interaction and alternative treatment is recommended.
I would recommend you to talk to your doctor related to the risk of arrhythmias if you add ondansetron to your treatment.
I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
