In The Past About 5yrs Ago My Triglycerides Were Around

Are my CRP level high to where I should be concern or should I not stress about it. My Gastrin Serum test in the past have came back a bit high they were in 192 pg/mL. Last week my results on Gastrin Serum came back 556 high pg/mL and on the reports is says: Siemens IMMULITE 2000 Immunochemiluminometric assay (ICMA) Values obtained with different assay methods or kits cannot be used interchangeably. Results cannot be interpreted as absolute evidence of the presence or absence of malignant disease.
can you please explain this to me.
VERY HIGH THAT IS A RISK FACTOR FOR CVD
Detailed Answer:
Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX
I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.
Your TG levels are very high (rather alarming ).
Such a high level makes you susceptible to atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease and stroke.
You need further cardiac evaluation in the form of ECG,Echocardiography and stress test.
You need to do dietary modifications with absolute restriction of oily, greasy and junk food, plentiful fibre diet with plenty of raw vegetables and fruits and avoiding alcohol.
You need to do life style modifications with physical exercise and de stressing yourself (by meditation and yoga).
Your clinician would start lipid lowering drugs from the group of "statins" and "fibrates" and would go for repeat lipid profile after a gap of 3 months.
CRP is a protein released in blood stream whenever there is a damage to the blood vessel walls.
It's levels are increased in response to an infection and inflammation anywhere in the body (for e.g. atherosclerosis).
It is a non specific test but hs CRP(High sensitivity proportion) has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
A high gastrin levels may be caused by Zollinger Ellison syndrome, prolonged anti acid medications, chronic atrophic gastritis and many abdominal tumours.
Please see a gastroenterologist for complete evaluation, clinical examination and management.
Hope that I have answered your query.
Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
