Brief Answer:
Platelets can be suppressed in any fever.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to the XXXXXXX

Platelets numbers are always fluctuating, having life span of only 6-8 hours.
Usually they get suppressed easily in any viral fever, and normal number are recovered easily after viral toxemia is finished.

Dengue are of many serotypes(varieties) like type I or type II,III and IV,

Once dengue occurred by one serotype it can not be repeated by the same serotypes, It can be repeated by the other remaining serotypes only.

He can be further screened for the Dengue antigen test and complete fever panel investigation to rule out Viral/ Enteric /malarial fever or any other bacterial infection. Accordingly he should get specific and symptomatic treatment.

Good nutrition and adequate fluid replenishment should be the aim in any viral fever for the proper recovery from the ailment.

Hope, the query is answered.

Please feel free for the further clarification.

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
Mental work do not drop Platelets.Keep milder activity

Detailed Answer:
Hi

0000 Platelets/microleter of blood are not so alarming. but should be monitored daily or alternate day to check its steep fall. Platelets below 0000 may lead to hemorrhagic tendencies.

Once the count reaches the comfortable limit of 1.5 lakhs. (which is lower normal limit) only then we can stop monitoring the platelets counts.

He can continue his studies with moderate activity.

Mental exercises are not known to drop the platelets counts.

Excess fluid intake like fruit juices to be encouraged.

Hope the query is answered.

All the best for the exams.

Thanks
