Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX
I can understand your concern .
First of all I would like to ask you what was the reason for ingestion of lithium and what is weight of your son.
I would like to inform you that in treatment of bipolar disorder it is used from dose ranging from 300 mg to 3000 mg per day.But it has very low safety margin that is after a certain level in plasma it becomes toxic .so its blood level is to be decided for looking it's toxic effect.
In acute setting, if he has taken single dose of it then this may cause nausea, vomiting and pain in stomach . Sometimes it may affect muscles also.
Keep watch on these.
Hope this will help you .
If you have any other concerns please feel free to message me . Thanks for contacting HCM .
