Question : My partner has suffered a serious depressive episode over christmas. I learned today that as well as drinking significant amounts of alcohol, she also took 45mg of zopiclone in a serious(ish) attempt to prevent herself from waking. She is not an addict of any kind but does occasionally have these depressive events and then drinks heavily. She has a high functioning job and these events are rare but nevertheless worrying.
4 days on she is still sufferring from dizziness, extreme tiredness and lack of coordination but is able to function. I need to know what the average recovery period is likely to be before the drub=g is purged and if there is anything that I can giver her to speed recovery and what if any long term effects she may have.
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

A zolpiclone overdose is potentially fatal. Her symptoms are concerning for prolonged intoxication or withdrawal, which can result in seizures, coma, and death. I strongly recommend you take her to the nearest hospital immediately.
