The scientific literature says that low dose isotretinoin (Accutane) does indeed help reduce the severity of seborrheic dermatitis and acne by reducing the gland size and also decreasing the oil/sebum production.

My suggestion for you would to be discuss this option with your treating dermatologist and ask him/her to prescribe you the right dosage.
