Alka-seltzer plus is a combination of aspirin, phenylephrine and antihystaminic (chlorpheniramine).

Aspirin, chlorpheniramine, and phenylephrine is a combination medicine used to treat fever, common cold, or the flu.

Phenylephrine is a medication that can increase the blood sugar and usually it is recommended to monitor it while using this medication.

It is not a contraindication but you should keep monitoring blood sugar as long as you take Alka-seltzer plus.

If there is a tendency to raise the nlood sugar you may adjust the dose of antidiabetics or stop using it.
