Question: Hi. In your opinion, is Celexa a good antidepressant for Bipolar disorder? I have a wonderful psychiatrist and we've agreed that just my mood stabilizers alone is working. Although lately I've been feeling Alot more of my pain in my back than usual and have been getting more emotional than I have been a month ago. My next appointment with her is in two months. She is amazing because she let's me choose what I feel is good for me. I have some Celexa that I have never taken yet and am wondering if you think that would be OK to start it. I've already taken two

Unfortunately, there is no evidence that antidepressants are better than placebo for treatment of bipolar depression. The only medications proven in large-scale clinical trials to be better than placebo are mood stabilizers and atypical antipsychotics. So I can't say I entirely agree with this decision.
