Question: My wife has plaque psoriasis on both hands and is taking Otesla. The depression medicine she has taken recently Prozac and Paxil caused a flare-up in her condition. Would Cymbalta be compatible with the Otesla?

Brief Answer:
Regarding drug interaction b/w otezla and cymbalta

Detailed Answer:
hello. thank you for writing to us.

I am Dr. Kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.

Although there is no reported drug interaction between Apremilast (Otezla) and Duloxetine (Cymbalta), however Apremilast per se should be used cautiously in patients with a history of depression. It may be associated with onset or worsening of depression, suicidal thoughts, behavioral and mood changes in these patients and therefore the risks may be weighed against potential benefits.
