Question : Can Doxycycline be used for a sinus infection? On Friday evening under my right eye swelled up like a frog's throat with a little firmness. I had been experiencing tightness in the right side and stoppage in the right ear for a couple of days. I had some doxycycline from a recent surgery and started that Saturday morning. It seems to be working in that the swelling has decreased by half after just one day on it, but I don't know if I'm helping my body or not.
Brief Answer:
Doxycycline will be Helpful
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma'am,
I have gone through your question and I understand your concern but there is no need to worry as doxycycline is commonly used to treat bacterial sinus infections. I would recommend that you complete the doxycycline course for seven days even if improvement of your symptoms occurred..
I would also recommend that you add an antihistaminic as citrizine once daily before going to bed..
I hope you find this helpful..
