Brief Answer:
You are free from HIV infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
NON-REACTIVE HIV ELISA 170 days after the risky contact ruled out HIV infection to the extent of 99%. Negative ELISA by 90 days itself is ok as the window period for HIV is within 12 weeks. Presence of thyroid problem will not alter the situation.

Does the medication for thyroid and also insominia will not alter ther result in future as well... is that conclusive sir
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sankaranantham Murugan (24 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Your result is 99%reliable

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Yes, you are free from HIV infection.
Your medication for thyroid problem and insomnia are also would not interfere with the outcome of the HIV result.
So your report is 99% conclusive.
If you repeat another different HIV test and get a non-reactive test is almost 100%reliable.
Even without another HIV test, it is sure that you are free from HIV infection.

Brief Answer:
Another HIV test 6 months after the exposure will be conclusive

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Beyond 180 days from the exposure, there is no chance for further seroconversion.
So you can take up a 4th generation HIV combo/DUO test after 23 - 7-2017. It will be ideal to get 100%conclusive result.

Hi Doctor,
As a follow up question,
As per ur suggestion, I have gone for 4th generation test on 176th day which gave non-reactive (0.07) with <1.0 is non-reactive and another 4th generation test on 182 days which gave non-reactive but this time no. Increased to 0.19 which is really bothering me.
Does this increasing no. Indicates that the test will turn to reactive in next coming months..
Do i need to take another test later to make 100% conclusive.

Dr. I am waiting for ur reply from long time.. request u to look into my concern

Answered by Dr. Sankaranantham Murugan (6 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Your result is conclusive. No further test is necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Your result is conclusive beyond any doubt.
No further test is necessary. Non-reactive result is important. The end values have no clinical importance. It does not mean ascending value. It will not turn positive in future. Not to worry.

Is that really very normal to ignore.

Hi Dr.
You are saying the number has no value. But the no. Is saying the result 1.00 is reactive.. eventually 1.what if the no. Increase to cutoff in coming months.. ?
2. Does this mean seroconversion is getting started?
3. 1point here and there is understandable but there is diff. Of 0.12 ie. 0.07 to 0.19 which is huge in just 5days and both the tests are done in one lab..
Dr. Please I need clarity on this .As I am still not able to rest and move on because of this number..
Thanks in advance..

Brief Answer:
Values below the cut off value has no significance

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Anything above is considered as reactive. Anything less than this is non-reactive. Variations below the cut off value has no significance. I am a clinician. If you want to know more about the values below the cut off value, you have to address a microbiologist or a laboratory specialist. I can assure you that you are free from HIV infection. That is all.

Hi Dr.
I have one concern.. since last one week I have low fever, vomit sensatation and diarreha... for which I went to family doctor.. and Dr. suspected jaundice and I gave blood test for the same and all the reports came normal.. Now I heard about hepitities in google... would my blood test is enough to say that i am not infected with Hepitites or should i go for any specific test to make it confirm.

I have uploaded the reports for your ref. DR.
Thanks in advance..
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sankaranantham Murugan (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
There is no evidence for jaundice in your investigation reports.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I went through your reports. All investigations were well within normal limits. There is no evidence of jaundice and your liver function test were normal. If there is any indication of jaundice then tests for Hepatitis A,B,C have to done. But there is no evidence of jaundice in you report.
You are free from HIV. Your fever, nausea and diarrhea could not be due to HIV. Consult your physician, With an examination and other investigation he/she could diagnose the cause of your fever and prescribe medicine accordingly. Get well soon.

Brief Answer:
You are free from HIV infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
You are free from HIV.
Your liver functions are normal as per the reports sent by you.
At the same time there is no report to say that you are free from Hepatitis A,B,C. As the liver functions were normal, we can predict that you are unlikely to get infected with viral hepatitis.

Brief Answer:
There is no indication to suggest hepatitis test for you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Without knowing about your occupation, sexual activities and your risk for hepatitis, there is no indication to ask for hepatitis test for you.
Moreover there is no suspicion for hepatitis from your investigations report. So I don't suggest hepatitis test for you.

Brief Answer:
You are free from HIV/STD.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
You are free from HIV.
As you are free from other symptoms of STD for the last 6 months after your unprotected extramarital contact, STD can also be ruled out. Your liver function test reports are within normal limits. So the possibility of hepatitis is unlikely. You can simply forget about this incident from your life. Stick to safe sex in future.

Hi Doctor,
Dr. U said in previous text that...As you are free from other symptoms of STD for the last 6 months after your unprotected extramarital contact,.... little confusion on this..
1.Since last 2 months i had spotting 3-4days before periods.
2. And this month I completed my periods 5 days back but since yesterday having spotting again...
Yesterday i spoke to Dr. About current spotting but he said it might be because of wèekness.. does this issue something to worry about STD..
