Is ELISA Test Report Conclusive After 4 Months Of Exposure?

default
Posted on Mon, 26 Oct 2015
Question: I had unprotected oral sex performed on me with two different woman consecutively for two days on 6th and 7 th may . there was lot of body cuddling and kissing involved. The sexual encounter on 7th of May also had protected(with protection) Vaginal sex for a very brief period(one minute). As I was wearing the protection rubber and I wasn't feeling anything therefore I asked the girl to perform unprotected oral sex on me. I am unsure about their Hiv status. I got my first HIV antibody screening and plus antibody and antigen combo test on 4th August. It was negative.
Then to be sure once again I for the second time did a antibody and antigen combo test on 22nd September, which also was negative.

My question is whether or not can I be sure of my HIV status or do I need to do one more test at the six month mark.

Brief Answer:
No need to do further tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
Most of us doctors can comment on HIV status after 3 monthly ELISA test reports with confirmation. Some prefer a 6 monthly report too, but that is not necessary, a further confirmative test basically.
If both of your reports have come negative, then you can be considered free from HIV and you do not need any further tests for confirmation.
However, it would be very useful if you could send me the reports so that I can have a look and give you further confirmation.

Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
Regards
