Question : Hello although I am allergic to red XXXXXXX and bees my doctor has decided after all keeping me on 12.5mg of atenolol is best to control my fast pulse until I lose weight. If I were to use an epipen would it be effective ?

Don't worry Epipen will be effective when needed..

You have nothing to worry about if you have to use Epipen it will be effective. Following are the reasons for this statement:
1. You are taking a low dose of atenolol which help to control only heart rate and has little or no effect on respiratory tract (where's the primary wanted effect of epipen).
2. Atenolol is safely used to avoid unwanted side effects from epipen use (such as tachycardia, Hypertension e.c.t.).
