Question : does liver cirrhosis or fatty liver condition primarily alcohol induced advance from early stages even if alcohol drinking is stopped completely?
Brief Answer:
Fatty liver can be stopped and reversed. Liver cirrhosis can not be stoped.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Fatty liver is a completely reversible condition. So stopping alcohol intake should give a time to liver for regeneration. No matter how advanced is fatty liver.
If its about liver cirrhosis, it can not be reversed. Liver cirrhosis appears when liver is rearranged so fibrous tissue replaces healthy liver cells. Stopping alcohol consumption wont reverse it or stop the process, however it may delay the progression. So its still worth to stop drinking.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
