Question : Hello. My age is 56. I am diabetic for the last 2 years. My blood sugar level : fasting - 155 and post food 140. I am taking Gluconorm SR 1 G morning/evening. I have following questions:-

1. Is my blood sugar levels in safe zone?
2. Is Gluconorm SR 1 G safe to take on long term basis?
3. Would you like to suggest some other medicine to further control the blood sugar level?

Fasting seems high.

Hello,

Things are acceptable. fasting is a little high. for further investigation we need your HbA1c, renal functions, TSH, FT4, lipid profile. Gluconorm-G 1 is a good medicine. You can continue it safely. but as your fasting is high, I would recommend adding tab Glycomet to it before dinner.

Thanks for your reply. I am taking Gluconorm SR 1 G once in the morning and once at night. Do I need to take Glycomet 500 mg at night along with Gluconorm SR 1 G. Or only Glycomet 500 mg has to be taken at night. Please clarify.

Hi,

We need to add Glycomet to the present plan. So if you make Gluconorm g1 to Gluconorm g1 Forte at night and continue Gluconorm g1 in the morning. It will solve the problem.
