Question : Hello I had sex with someone I had met a week ago. I protected myself with a condom but since for some reason I wasn't working during sex when I pulled my penis out the condom was almost off so my partner just pulled it off. We tried again and I put the condom back on. I also gave her oral sex for 20 minutes. is there risk in this act? Also I plan to take HIV RNA test at 11 days past exposure, will this be conclusive? On the 12 day I am having sinus problems. I feel my forehead very stiff and same as the each side of my nose very stiff....is this a sign of me getting sick hence the symptoms of ARS coming up?

                                    Brief Answer:
Symptoms Not related to HIV.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
As it is protected intercourse the chance of HIV transmission is almost none. The chance by oral sex is also rare until there is ulcer in either of the partners contact areas.
So the risk is almost rare.
You can go for HIV RNA PCR after 11 days.It is sensitive >99% for detection of HIV1. It is conclusive for hiv1.Hiv2 is rare.
The symptoms are non specific and not related to HIV.
You can get back for any clarification.

Thank you doc for the information.
Last thing I also used my fingers in and out of her vagina for good 20 minutes. One thing I remembered today is that about 10 minutes after the finger penetration I used my fingers to itch my anus....from time to time it itches so I used my fingers to itch it. Could that be a risK?
Also if I go on the 11th day after exposure what is the sensitivity then? 95%? Or should I wait til 15 days for example. Thank you

                                    Brief Answer:
Not a risk for HIV transmission.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
Finger Penetration does not transmit HIV unless there is ulcer or abrasion in finger. Also anal itching with same finger is not a risk for transmission of HIV.
HIV RNA PCR test is > 99% sensitive after 11 days of exposure. Not much difference waiting for 15 days.
You can get back for any clarification.
