                                            Question : Hi Dr,
I recently and stupidly had sex with a prostitute, it was protected. We got undress, I gave a quick feel around, might of touched her vagina I did lick her breasts, I lay on my stomach and she gave me a message, she sat on my back naked. She then first gave me oral protected but because I was flaccid she stopped, took the condom off and gave me a vigorous hand job, we kissed a little bit but not french kissing, it was quite dry, once I had an erection, she put the same condom on back to the right way, she put lube on her vagina and we proceeded to have intercourse in the doggy position, it lasted for about 3 minutes and I ejaculated, the condom looked fully intact, from my understanding if it breaks or tears it exposes the whole penis, right? she took the condom off, put it in the bin and gave me a wet wipe, I cleaned up and picked up a wet wipe myself and gave my penis another clean. That was the end of it. It's been 3 days now and I am terrified I could of potentially caught an STD, my penis is still a bit sore (or infected), I had a half semi today and after it pained a bit but subsided, my pee doesn't burn uncomfortably but as I'm paying attention it maybe feels warmer than you usually notice, if I pull the skin back an inspect it, my penis does have a slight discolor to it and not sure if there is a small bump on the skin and veins playing tricks on my eyes, I've had the odd itch here and there but nothing crazy. From the description, what is likely hood I caught an STD and how long do you think I should wait till I have in unprotected sex with my long standing partner, I feel so guilty and ashamed and have potentially ruined everything.
Your time is greatly appreciated

                                    Brief Answer:
Yourrisk negligible.Protected exposure notto worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi, Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
You had a protected exposure and find your condom was intact even after the completion of intercourse.
Kissing, touching the vagina, licking the dry breast, hand job were not having any high risk for HIV/STD. The risk is negligible. Nothing to worry. All your symptoms are due to your fear and anxiety only. Anyhow have your HIV/STD tests done after 12 weeks, before you continue your relationship with your regular partner to be on the safer side.
Relax. Nothing to worry.

As the days go on, my anxiety is starting to fade, I am still abit sore down there after 4 days, is that normal? And sometimes my penis feels hot?
Should any kind of signs show up by now regarding an STD, ie bumps, spots, burning while urinating etc?
And I'm assuming you are recommending I need testing?

                                    Brief Answer:
Negative STD/HIV test will relieve mental tension
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Everything mentioned by you is normal only.
Regarding STDs there are nearly 30 different diseases are there. Each disease is caused by different organism like different bacteria, virus, fungus, protozoa and parasites. They have different incubation period. Certain diseases may not have symptoms and remain latent. Gonorrhea has short incubation period and if there is an infection it would manifest within 3-7 days. Others may manifest later and or remain asymptomatic. Testing for all diseases are not necessary. HIV and Syphilis can be tested and ruled out and it would give you a great relief.
