Is MRI Scan The Protocol For Back Pain?

Question: HI my doctor has referred me for a urgent MRI scan
With long standing back pain and spine but I forgot to tell him I also have pain round the front towards my my stumuch pain would this also show up even that my main problem is my back?

Detailed Answer:
Well different mri protocols are used for abdominal scan and stomach can't be visualized in routine spine scans. Also,stomach pain is evaluated with other diagnostic tests such as endoscopy or ultrasound. Of course,mri of abdomen is very sensitive and accurate but also expensive and I doubt that they will do it along with spine mri unless you have good indication for it.
