Question : I am 69 years old. Taking Metre H50 for the past three years. Now I got Metrepure XL50 instead of Metre H50 by mistake through servant. Is it advisable to take MetpureXL50 in the prescribed MetpureH50.
Brief Answer:
Hydrochlorthiazide is missing in Metpure Xl 50.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Metpure H50 contains metaprolol SR 50 and hydrochlorthiazide 12.5. But metpure Xl50 has only metaprolol SR 50. So the diuretic drug hydrochlorthiazide is missing in metpure Xl. So if you want to take metpure Xl then you have to buy hydrochorthiazide 12.5mg tablet also to take along with it. Then it will be equivalent.
As you were taking this combination better to continue it. Other wise there will be shooting up of blood pressure.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
