Question : I made out with a stranger last night. I noticed a small cut on my lip but did not notice any blood during or after. Is PeP warrented in this circumstance?
Brief Answer:
PEP can be avoided.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A small cut with no bleeding is likely to be an old and a superficial cut. This does not increase the chances of infection unless there is an active ulcer present on the other partner. PEP is not recommended in such cases where there is no evidence of an active disease or no direct blood to blood contact was present.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
