Question : Hi I am 26 yrs old...my period was on 27th XXXXXXX which was my regular cycle .I took an ipil on 6th feb and started to bleed brownish in 14th which continues till today ....and it is very light bleeding ..... should I take pause 500 to stop this.....and when to expect my next period ...or is this is my regular cycle which came earlier cz I am having mild cramps sometimes....

Hello,

1. The spotting you are currently experiencing is mostly a withdrawal bleed. The emergency pill contains high dose of progesterone and this alters the hormone status.

2. Your natural period that happens next is likely to be delayed by a week or two. Cramping is often observed with disturbed hormone milieu. However, if the cramping persists, please get further help.

3. This spotting should subside on its own. Please do not self-medicate.

Pregnancy prevention is satisfactory if the pill has been consumed within the stipulated period after an accident.
