No, do not self medicate with antibiotics.

Sulfamethoxazole-tmp (Cotrimoxazole) does not cure urinary tract infections caused by certain bacteria. A flouroquinolone or cehpalosporin antibiotics are the ones useful.

Levofloxin is a quinolone. Would it be ok to take one a day until I can see a doctor Mon.

Quinolones have high selectivity and wide spectrum of side effects. I strongly recommend not to take such medication son your own.

Drink ample amount of water.
Drink Cranberry juice, these will increase your urine output and help in washing out the infection. This will reduce the infection load to maximum.
