Brief Answer:
No side effect on baby among indicated cases.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

SUSTEN contains micronised progesterone which basically supports pregnancy and prevents early miscarriage or pregnancy loss. You should continue the same according to your doctor's advice.

There is NO such documented side effects on baby boy when it is used in pure indication (lack of progesterone). It acts as supplement.

However, you may found some side effects including stomach upset, changes in appetite, weight gain, fluid retention and edema, fatigue, acne, insomnia, fever, headache, breast discomfort etc. In that case, you should consult with your treating obstetrician.

What will happen if I stop susten instantly.I don't want to lose the baby and don't want side effects on the baby at the same time. Will I get any warning if my progesterone gets low as I don't have access or facility to test my progesterone now.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Miscarriage may occur without progesterone supplement.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for follow up query.

You had H/O two pregnancy loss and LOW progesterone level. Therefore, sudden discontinuation of SUSTEN may NOT be advisable without doctor's recommendation.

Without progesterone supplement, you may face repeated miscarriage at this time also. It is required to support and continue healthy pregnancy.

As I have already told that there is NO such documented side effects on baby where it is used in indicated case. So, you don't need to worry much.

Best thing - you should do periodic check up to your doctor for assessment of fetal well being and follow his/ her advice. It will be worthwhile.

Be well and take care. Good luck.
