Brief Answer:
A course of Antibiotics may be needed.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
Raised tlc level may have different reasons like urine infection, abscess, throat infection and choice of antibiotics depends upon the type of infection.

Sometimes these infections are caused by viral infections, where antibiotics will not help, other times, the fever is due to a bacterial infection. In which case antibiotics would be of benefit.

To arrive at this determination. I need more information.

So please tell me the detailed history, what are the complaints other than fever, etc? Do you have the rest of the blood work that was done? Help me with this, so that I can help you better.

Till then you can give paracetamol for fever in the dose of 10 to 20mg/kg every 4 to 6 hourly.
Hope I helped you.

Brief Answer:
wait for 3 to 5 days

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
Your doctor might have found the infection in the throat or upper respiratory tract, so he started antibiotic amoxyclav (advent).
So I would suggest you to continue with the antibiotic and wait for 3 to 5 days for fever to get settled.
If not relieved by then, you can see a doctor again.
Hope I helped you.

Brief Answer:
after about 6 doses.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up.
Antibiotic should work within 2 to 3 days if there is bacterial infection, provided that the choice of antibiotics is correct.
In some circumstances oral antibiotics will not work, if the infection is more virulent or strong , in such cases we will need injectable antibiotics.
So I would suggest you to wait for at least 6 doses of antibiotics.
Hope I helped you.
