Is TOF Just A Temporary Correction And People With This Has To Undergo Multiple Surgeries In Their Life?

Question: Hi,

Attaching the reports of a person who has undergone TOF surgery.
She is fine now and is not under any medication and physical activity restrictions.
Please review the reports and give your diagnosis on her condition. I know that the surgery has been done back around 15 years from now. But the fact that i got a proposal from this girl and want to know some facts about TOF. Please clarify my doubts as im receiving all sorts of negative/positive comments from people.
1) IS TOF just a temporary correction and people has to undergo multiple surgeries in their life?
2) Is valve leaks the common case for TOF in the long run or some other complications may arise in future?
3) At times of pregnancy , will the risk be greater.
4)Can the present state be analysed using ECHO/MRI's and to what extend they can predict?(100%)

I know nobody predicting future is impossible, yet a curiosity of a young man.
Please excuse.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Post operative total repair of TOF is usually curative.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have gone through your question. I can understand your anxiety. I have gone through reports you have sent.I shall answer in order of your questions.
1. She underwent total correction in 1998.Total correction is virtually curative.she will not need any further surgery.
2.Mild pulmonary valvular regurgitation is common post TOF repair and is not at all serious.
3.As she has undergone total correction there will not be any serious risk of pregnancy.(one of my patients delivered few years back normally)although she will need minor antibiotic prophylaxis during delivery or any relevant procedure.
4.Latest echo done on 2001 also confirms that he surgery was successful and she was asymptomatic.
I would still suggest to get one fresh echocardiogram done and send me the report.Following which I shall guide you.
I hope i have replied your query upto your satisfaction,
My best wishes
