Brief Answer:
Subclinical hypothyroidism

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

The answers to your questions:

1. You are having subclinical hypothyroidism - a small decrease in thyroid gland function- Not a serious problem, but requires treatment at your age. The dose we usually start is 25 mcg of thyroxine (Eltroxine, Thyronorm) daily morning empty stomach. Please consult a physician or endocrinologist before starting medications.

2. Other tests we do are anti thyroid antibodies (Anti TPO antibody and Anti Tg antibody) - which are blood tests that will tell you whether hypothyroidism is due to systemic problem - autoimmune hashimoto's disease.

3 Hypothyroidism needs proper treatment after marriage. If planning for pregnancy the TSH has to below 3 miu/ml. If so there wont be any risk. If not treated properly, the chance of abortions are high.

Hope I have answered your questions. If you need any further clarifications I will be happy to help you.
