Brief Answer:
Take tetanus injection for a safer side.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

I have read your query and reviewed the pictures.

One should take tetanus shot after getting injured (even mild to severe) from any kind of metal (iron, steel and aluminium etc).

Clinically I also recommend to take tetanus shot after getting cut injury from a wooden stick as well.

Also, for any crush injuries/ burn injury or any injury/ wound which is contaminated with soil or dust particles.

In your case, the cut wound is small for which you can apply any OTC antiseptic cream/ointment after cleaning it properly with sterile water.

But I would advise you to take one tetanus shot intramuscular for a safer side since the object causing the cut, is a metal.

Hope this helps and let me know if you need more help.

Brief Answer:
Yes, just wash the wound with sterile water and dettol/savlon. It is fine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

There is no hard n fast rule to take a tetanus shot as I have recommended to take it to be on safer side.

However, there is no need to take if you have taken a tetanus shot in last 5 years as the immunity of T.T. shot may last up to 5 years.

But it is advisable to take it on a safer side and if you are going to take it, then it has to be within 24-48 hours following a cut injury.

You can wash the wound with sterile water and dettol/ savlon, then apply antiseptic dressing to cover it for initial couple of days. You will be fine.

Brief Answer:
No need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again,

Tetanus toxoid is a killed vaccine,we routinely called it as tetanus shot or injection.'

There is a combination vaccine called DPT (diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and tetanus) where Tetanus is also given in pediatric as part of national immunization schedule.

There is NO need to worry here. You can wash the cut wound as I said earlier and probably it gets healed within 3 to 5 days.

Further,I would advise to take tetanus shot within 48 hours of the injury for a safer side.

Brief Answer:
Yes,that's fine

Detailed Answer:
At present, better you wash this cut wound with soap and water and apply antiseptic cream/ointment and cover it.

Since the wound is small,it won't take much time to heal.So there is no hurry to see doctor right now.

You can consult on Thursday ,there is no issue.

Brief Answer:
Yes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the appreciation.

Since this is a small cut wound,I do not think there is anything to be concerned much.

With proper care and antiseptic application, the wound will start to heal within 3 to 5 days and you will be fine.

And preferably tetanus shot should be taken for a safe side.Otherwise there is nothing to worry.
