Question : my 3 and a half year old fell on the road and bruised both her knees there was some bleeding we covered the bruise and cleaned it with betadine.we also put soframicin.does she need tetnaus and can we put water on it ?
Brief Answer:
Tetanus is covered in scheduled vaccination.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Children receive DPT or DT (includes tetanus) as a part of the scheduled vaccination program. So, if your child is following the schedule of vaccination he does not need to be vaccinated for tetanus. You can put water to clean the area and can continue to put soframycin on it. After the area is dry, avoid any further use of water for a few days.
