Question : I want to know whether TRIDOT test is accurate in detecting HIV virus and if any human error occurs while detecting the virus.
I had a protected sexual encounter wit no oral sex with a call-girl on April 12th and had a HIV I and II Test which found to be non-reactive by TRIDOT method on 06.07.15.Its well past 80days and want to know how accurate it is?Are more tests necesssary?
Is lymph node TB happens early in HIV positive patients or late in life?

HI,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
TRIDOT test for HIV is a very reliable test and used widely. Manufacturers claim a 100% specificity and sensitivity. In one study they found the specificity and sensitivity are above 99%.
A non reactive test by 80 days after the risk contact is very much conclusive up to 98-99%. Another negative rapid test with a different type of antibody detection will made it will become 100%reliable.

                                    Brief Answer:
Reactive HIV test and CD4 count can indicate the the staging of the disease
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Your test is almost conclusive. It is up to you to go far another test or not.
TB Lymph nodes can occur both as in early stage before the immunity go worst and also during late stages with low immunity and one can have in the absence of HIV infection also.
One can not come to any conclusion with TB adenitis and the HIV infection stage or presence of an HIV infection. HIV Test and CD4 count play role in deciding the stage of the disease.
