Question : I had a low grade fever about a week ago that lasted for a day and went away. I didn’t have a lot of symptoms offher than a chest tickle when I took a deep breath and I coughed up a little mucous. I did have some right upper quadrant pain as well as body aches with the temperature which averaged around a 100 and went away with nsaids. I went to the urgent care and they did a chest X-ray which was negative and bloodwork. The bmp was normal also. My wbc was 10 and my neutrophils were 70 something. I got better by the next day except for some nightsweats. The urgent care write my for a zpack if my symptoms got worse but I didn’t take it. The rapid flu and full viral panel were negative. During the rest of the week I was okay with the exception of a sinus headache. On Monday night I had terrible nausea and a noisy stomach. On Tuesday I woke up feverish with Joiny pain everywhere. I had the same chest tickle as well and nausea. I decided to take the zpack. Albuterol helped with the chest tickle. I still had night sweats. Today I had a small low grade temp and sinus headache. Lastly when I went to the bathroom before and my stool was yellow. Is there anything that is connecting all of these symptoms and is it possible to have an infection go away on it’s own and then come back? Any help is appreciated. As far as history goes I have acid reflux, asthma, and hypothyroidism as well as frequent viral illnesses.

Brief Answer:

Probable viral infection!

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

You seem to have/had a viral infection (the flu viral panel doesn't cover them all). Symptoms control with Tylenol is all I recommend.

Eat healthily, drink plenty of fluids and eat many fruits, vegetables. Take some steam inhalation twice to thrice daily for the time being. Exercise often to help beat the recovery process-making it shorter.

Don't worry, it'll pass soon.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
