Brief Answer:
can be due to different possible causes

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Blood in the urine (haematuria) can be due to different possible causes such as:
(1)infection of any aspect of the urinary tract- bladder, urethra, ureter, kidney or prostate

(2)stones- normally be associated with pain

(3)cancer of the urinary tract

(4)trauma

(5)side effect of medications- aspirin, ibuprofen and other nsaids, warfarin and other anticoagulants

(6)blood disorder

(7)kidney failure and other types of specific kidney diseases

In terms of the bones, if a person has leukemia or lymphoma, they may at risk of bleeding because the platelets (parts of the blood that helps with clotting and prevents bleeding), is low.
Low platelets can cause bleeding to occur but if leukemia or lymphoma was present , it would show up in a complete blood count (the white cell would be very very high).

The blood is more likely related to some aspect of the urinary tract.

If he has symptoms of infection then this can be treated with antibiotics

If this is not the case then imaging such as an ultrasound may be needed.

The ultrasound or other imaging would take a look at the urinary tract to identify the cause of the blood.
Imaging can identify a stone, a mass or growth, or any changes

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
