Is a 4.1x3.0 hemorrhagic cyst dangerous? I have 2 fibroids as well as a enlarged uterus with fluid in pelvic. I asked my dr about a hysterectomy but she doesn't think I need one. She wants me to try hormone medication. Should I be seeking another dr.

Brief Answer:
The cyst with these dimensions doesn't need surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I read the ultrasound report and it outlined that you are having a haemorrhagic cyst in right ovary and the ovary dimensions were 4.1x3 .
This can't be an indication for surgery.
The ultrasound didn't mentioned the uterus dimensions, number and sizes of myomas that should be evaluated in order to decide for surgery or not.
Also the symptoms that fibromatose uterus causes vary from asymptomatic to bleeding, difficulty urinating and defecation and this can be considered before surgery.
The asymptomatic fybromyomas in woman near menopause are left untreated.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

I actually have 2 fibroids 1 that's 4 cm and 1 that's 2 cm. I have pain and pressure on my lower stomach. When I urinate there's pressure on my lower stomach after urinating. Most days I cramp bad as well as lower back pain. Is there medication that can assist with my discomfort? I would prefer to have a hysterectomy but I don't think my Dr will go for it

Brief Answer:
No medications can help to shrink them.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
You are not having irregular, increased bleeding which can be a reason for surgery and also the measurements of fibroids are not so enlarged.
Anyway if you are having much discomfort you can talk again to your doctor for surgery option.
I don't think changing doctor can be helpful because they estimate the factors almost the same way and the other doctor can still not advice hysterectomy.
So as a conclusion you can talk to your doctor about the discomfort you are having and about considering the surgery removing them. There are no drug options to reduce fybromyomas size only going through menopause can shrink them a bit.
