Question : Hello,
I am a very frightened female in need of sound advice . I had unprotected vaginal sex 23 days ago . I am not sure of the other persons status . On the 13 th day after encounter I did and hiv rna test . The results came back negative . Today is 23 days after encounter and this morning I did a 4th generation duo test. I will have to wait a week for results . About 8 days after exposure I developed bad runny nose, nasal drip and congestion with green mucos. I also felt hot and cold continuously for a week and a half. I went to see a counselor and they said they will test me for free at the end of March. Any suggestions about the tests that I have taken?

The forth generation duo test is said to give accurate result after about 12 week of infection, if at all you are exposed.
Please do not worry, as your symptoms are very common for a flu or viral infection.
