Brief Answer:
117/74 is generally a healthy blood pressure

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome XXXXXXX

If you are feeling well, not light headed or weak, and your blood pressure usually run around this range, then this is right for you. Certainly a systolic pressure of 117 and a diastolic pressure of 74 is a very good pressure to have. I qualified it with the previous sentence because if your pressure are normally high, and now you feel sick and your pressures suddenly dropped to the current pressures, then no, it would not be normal for you.

Does this make sense? If not, I'll try to explain it in other ways.

My pressure was usually 128 to 134 over about 76 or so. I am taken a blood pressure pill.

Brief Answer:
About your pressures.

Detailed Answer:
The diastolic number is not much of a change between 74 and 76.

Regarding the systolic pressure change, it isn't extreme but is better than 128-134. Ideal systolic pressure is 120 or lower. So 117 is good. Is this change after starting the blood pressure medicine that you described?

Blood pressure varies by a few points naturally, even from one minute to the next. If it is less than or equal to 120 over 80, and if you are not having symptoms such as light headedness when you stand up, then there is usually not a problem with it.
