Brief Answer:
Get second opinion ultrasound scan.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your query.

I have read you query and I understand your concerns about low lying placenta.

Following is my reply:

1) Low lying placenta at this stage is unlikely to move away in 4 weeks.

2) There could also be observer variation. Hence I suggest you repeat another ultrasound scan from another scan centre after 2 weeks to confirm if placeta is really low.

3) It is always better to seek second opinion in such cases to clarify doubts about low lying placenta and its exact distance from the os.

4) If another report also shows low lying placenta, C section is an alternative.

I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.

Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya

I uploaded her first ultrasound scan. The problem is the doctor was not really clear about her situation , she was taking it as a really normal thing and didnt even advice her about what to do or what to not. Is having sex at this point safe? Should i have a ultrasound check after two weeks with a different hospital as i feel the hospital im going to is suggest intrested in c sections for more money. What advices do you give after seeing her report.

Brief Answer:
Get ultrasound scan done in different hospital

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You are right. The ultrasound needs to be repeated from different hospital to confirm this report. This report shows low lying placenta. Hence normal delivery not possible.

Avoid having sex till you repeat another ultrasound scan.

Send me repeat ultrasound scan report so that I can help you better.

Regards
