Brief Answer:
Ketogenic diet can be beneficial if applied properly

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, Kradom is a type of plant that is illegal in some countries and still legal in some others . in low doses it is a stimulant making the person active and talkative but on high doses it leads to lethargy. it can also cause the following side effects , vomiting (can be severe and prolonged), Nausea (can be severe and prolonged),Sweating, Itching,Constipation, Delusions, Lethargy, Respiratory depression, Tremors,Aggressive or combative behavior,Psychotic episodes, Hallucinations,Paranoia..
As for the kerogenic diet , it includes low carbohydrate , high protein and high fat diet ..the fat used should mainly be FISH oil to avoid side effects. the idea of the diet is to put the body in a ketoacidic state to loss more weight. this leads to less urine output and fruit flavor of breath .. it should improve type 2 diabetes and provide better control on blood glucose level. it should also decrease risk of heart diseases and provide fast weight loss.
ketogenic diet can lead to the side effects of fatigue , irritability , mode changes and brain fog.
if your husband experience any of these side effects then he should discontinue his diet plan.
I hope I answered your question.

well.. I don't know what to do anymore then when I asked the question. Is he making unhealthy choices on eating so much fat? My coffee maker has grease on it every morning. I cannot help but remembering that his cardiologist that put in his stents said that 85%of people go back to the way they were...how long can a person do this diet and does the weight loss stay off?

secondly.. He was on high doses of morphine and others and withdrew from all of that but at what cost if he is replacing it wit Kradom every 2 or 3 hours. which makes him sleepy and hard to work. Brain foggy...I cannot help but think this is no better then his opiates for addition. Apparently it did great when he weaned himself off of the opioids but now he keeps taking more and more of this other plant

Brief Answer:
Ketogenic diet is claimed to be safe to follow for life

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, the ketogenic diet is based on eating 69-70% of daily calories in the form of fat, 15-30% of daily calories in the form of protein and 5-10% of daily calories in the form of carbohydrates.
it is claimed that it can be followed for life and that a person can eat as much fat as he want without having any cardiac risks as long as he stays away from saturated fats which include butter, fatty beef, pork, cheese, cream , vegetable oil and lamb.
This means that he can have as much as he want from monosatuated fats as olive oil, poly unsaturated fats as fish oil..
As for the kradom abuse, you need to convince him that this abuse is no different that the previous abuses that he dealt with in the past and you should make him stop gradually.
I hope you find this helpful.

I cannot control what he eats anymore...he reads so many books and thinks he is a doctor now..everytime I mention something, he says it's good for him..excess in never good. Every day when get a new package in the mail. He has about 30 bottle of vitamins, puts saturated fat like GHEE in his coffee by the gobs..

His staples are eggs (fried in a ton of coconut oil) with a whole avocado for breakfast and a HUGE coffee with gobs of GHEE (butter) in it. Lunch is salmon or a burger with thick slice of cheese, sauerkraut, cauliflower or broccoli and diet soda (4 a day).. Dinner he makes a salad from a salad bar with so much cheese it has to be 1500 calories. more coffee sludge..inbetween,
then he has so many potions during the day...example bone broth, flax seed and something to make it red in color..he even drinks something called Fat Water..gross... All I can say is when the cardiologist put those 3 stents in him (could do 4 as the 4th was too far gone) she told us all that he could never go off of his medicine or back to the diet he had been on (Atkins) without the risk of heart attack. He has sleep apena and uses a crap mask and I keep having to look over to see if he is still breathing..We can't go to dinner anymore after 43 years of marriage...this cannot be good..and the Kratom is driving me crazy too.. He is clearly high from it and working less. Her makes it himself and that can't be good. How is this legal? Even weed had to get legal and this has the same effect as morphine I heard. He said you can't overdose on it but I don't know if that's true.

and lastly he just told me he isn't eating meat anymore and only uses goat cheese on his salad...He lost 60 lbs and that's good but he isn't taking diabetic medicine so if he goes off his diet he could spike...he also keeps some of his old meds around for pain and they were high doses so I am afraid when his hip pain flares up he might go back on it and the dose will be too high. I just wish he would eat normally. He puts a quarter cup of Stevia inhis coffee too..thanks over and out

Brief Answer:
He needs a check up

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, As I stated before she should decrease butter, cheese and coconut oil intake and increase his fish oil and olive oil intake.
also he should follow on his blood lipid profile including triglycerides , cholesterol , LDL, HDL and VLDL to avoid any cardiac complications .
he should also monitor blood glucose level as he is not taking his medications.
unfourtanetly this plant is still legal in some countries despite its harmful effect , you need to talk him out of using it.
I hope you find this helpful..
