Question : If you get a light scratch from a rusty wire that is not a deep cut, do you still need a tetnus shot?
yes. but not needed if you had it in last five years.

it is advised to take tetanus shot preferably within 12 hours and at the most within 24 hours of sustaining the injury.
There is no benefit of taking tetanus shot after 6 days.
