Posted on Wed, 8 Jun 2016
Question: After I washed my face and gently tubbed my eyes to rubb off my makeup, I got a bloody mark in eye. It looks like a broken blood vessel. Otis about the size of a 1/4 the size of a pea. Should I be concerned? Will it go away soon?

Brief Answer:
This looks like subconjuctival bleed. Not concerned with it...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I reviewed the posted image. You seem to have developed a small subconjuctival bleed. It will generally resolve on its own without untoward events / complications. Therefore I am not concerned.

I suggest to avoid rubbing the area which may aggravate this injury. You may apply an antiseptic eye drops if its available over the counter. Alternatively you can watch over the area and see how it evolves. If you develop pain or irritation or if the bleeding increases, visit your healthcare provider for further management.

That being said, the bleed seems too small to cause problems. So do not be worried.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
