Is A Cast Or Boot Is Better For Severe Foot Pain?

default

Question: Should I have a cast versus a boot? I'm wondering if I need to see an ortho DR to assess? Everything online points to a cast or a CT scan?

Brief Answer:
It may take 4-6 weeks to heal

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.

It would be easier for me if I see X-ray image, however, considering this explanation, there is no need for Ortho visit since no surgical therapy is required. It would heal even without immobilization, but boot is good option for faster healing and pain prevention.

There is no need for cast or for immobilization longer than 2 weeks.
